1st Dan

I started Aikido in August 1994 at Zen Shin Kan under the instruction of Alan Alldread Sensei, the club was fortunate to have a number of visiting Instructors over the years, including Alan Rowley Sensei, Dave Yates Sensei and Terry Ezra Sensei all willing to share their knowledge and skills with the clubs students.

I was also fortunate to develop my Aikido practice further by attending other Dojos and courses including Summer School over the years under the instruction several senior instructors including Ken Cottier Sensei and Kanetska Sensei.

In 2000 Zen Shin Kan separated from the BAF, joining Komyokan Aikido Federation under the Senior Instructor Ezra Sensei, I remained with the club until 2014. I continued my training initially under Alan Alldread Sensei, then later under the instruction of Susan Alldread Sensei, in addition there were regular classes under the instruction of Ezra Sensei, taking my grading as and when the opportunity allowed me to do so.

The club membership declined, making it no-longer viable, l left in 2014 due to a change in my personal circumstances.

Returning to training some years later in February 2022 to Wa Go Kan, Manchester, since returning I have continued to develop my Aikido being awarded with Shodan, and level 1 Assistant Coach.
