Q. How do I join?
A. Just arrive 15 minutes before any schedule class. The instructor will enrol you and you can start that session. If you wish to watch a class you are welcome at any time.

Q. What do I wear?
A. Most students wear a 'gi'. If you do not have a gi a sweatshirt, tracksuit bottoms or other loose fitting clothing is fine. When you decide to take up Aikido we can advise you on where to purchase a 'gi'.

Q. Must I be in good physical condition?
A. As with most martial arts it is helpful for students of Aikido to be in good physical condition. However training schedules can accommodate anybody's level of fitness and health.

Q. Can I be injured?
A. There is some risk of injury from throws etc. However Aikido emphasises safety and each student is taught to be aware of his or her own ability and the ability of their partner.

Q. Who are the instructors?
A. Senior instructor is David Yates who is a Shidoin with the British Aikido Federation. All other instructors are coaches with the British Aikido Board.

Q. How often should I attend class?
A. Students are encouraged to attend the three classes a week at the dojo. There are other BAF dojos in the North West that can be attended additionally.

Q. What can I expect when I begin classes?
A. Someone will work with you individually until you feel ready to join the group.
